Hara Athanasopoulou is a multidisciplinary artist specialising in textiles, drawing and sculpture. She graduated with a cum laude distinction in Fine Arts from the Royal Academy of Arts, The Hague. Athanasopoulou has exhibited her works both in the Netherlands and internationally and was also awarded the Jan Roede Award 2024.
Through her extended research she engages with the historical and contemporary significance of textile making. Her work looks into how textiles have functioned as a collective language for passing down and encoding knowledge, strenght, resilience and female identity.
